A clear and invigorating water. The source of the Papeete River has been laid out at the centre of a pleasant garden. Tahitians used to come to draw this specific pure water in flasks that were in their baskets. The Queen Pomare IV who only drinks coconut milk or water from this source uses to go swimming every morning in the natural bath that surrounded the source. For the Queen’s attention, her servants poured monoi on it and the morning bath used to last until the lunch with the girls of the court and their nonchalant chatter. Next her companions get occupied with their lovemaking.
